Leo Metzger scorched the Sandpiper Golf Course on Monday, firing a 6-under par 66 to lead the San Marcos boys golf team to a 385-436 Channel League win over Santa Barbara.
Metzger made nine birdies and matched his best high-school round, relative to par. He shot a 6-under 64 at par-70 Santa Barbara Golf Club earlier this season.
Jeffrey Forster tied his personal best with a 1-under 71, one shot better than teammate Shams Jahangir-Ashard.
San Marcos improved to 4-1 in league matches and 6-1 overall.
Hudson Hatton led Santa Barbara with a 79.
