The Live Oak Unitarian Universalist Congregation’s Holiday Project is back for a third year, collecting donations of hundreds of hand-knit and crocheted hats and scarves, and purchased gloves and socks to distribute to people in need of warm clothing.
Beginning Saturday, Dec. 13 and through the following week, the congregation will distribute the items via Showers of Blessing, the New Beginnings Safe Parking Program, CityNet, and several food distribution sites.
“Also, we enjoy making ‘drops’ in several public parks, and other locations in Goleta and Isla Vista for people to take, with a note saying ‘Take me if you need me or like me. Happy Holidays,”’ organizers said.
