San Marcos boys basketball capped off the Santa Barbara Holiday Classic with a 63-42 victory over Granada Hills on Tuesday inside the Thunderhut.

The Royals held a slim five-point lead at halftime, but a big third quarter out of the break allowed them to pull away for the comfortable victory.

Aidan Conlan continued his hot stretch on the offensive end with a team-high 20 points. Meanwhile, Koji Hefner scored 12 points and Brody Green ended with 10 points.

“After an up and down tournament, it felt really good to finish with a big time second half,” San Marcos head coach Matt Jordan said. “Aidan is shooting the ball with a lot of confidence, and we’re excited to get back into the swing of things in league (play).”

Dos Pueblos 58, Saratoga 53 (OT)

The Chargers came out on top in a back-and-forth overtime battle with Saratoga in the Holiday Classic finale on Tuesday inside Sovine Gym.

The two sides exchanged blows in the first two quarters, with Saratoga coming out with a 25-23 halftime advantage.

Dos Pueblos answered with an impressive defensive showing in the third, holding Saratoga to just four points to take a lead into the fourth. However, Saratoga answered down the stretch and forced the game into overtime.

In overtime, the Chargers made clutch play after clutch play, including a pair of big three-pointers by Evan Pinsker to seal the win.

Pinsker ended the night with 13 points for Dos Pueblos, while Coulter Jay put up a big double-double with 25 points and 10 rebounds.

The Chargers are now 10-4 overall and remain 1-1 in Channel League play.

Santa Barbara High 61, Oakland Tech 54

The Dons fought their way to a win over Oakland Tech to end the Holiday Classic undefeated on Tuesday.

Santa Barbara came out of the gates on fire, jumping out to an 8-0 lead and finishing the first quarter up 15-9. The defensive slugfest continued into the second as the Dons held onto a 24-20 halftime advantage.

Out of the break, the Dons got three straight three-pointers from Owen Horn to build up a 10-point lead and eventually take a 43-36 lead with one quarter to go.

Oakland Tech cut that lead down to five points at one point in the fourth, but Santa Barbara controlled the pace of play down the stretch to clinch the win.

Horn led the team with 15 points, while Levi Oakes and Cayleb Miller followed with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

“With this being our fourth game in five days, I was wondering how we would respond today,” Santa Barbara High head coach Greg Zuffelato said.” We displayed our season’s theme, ‘Relentless’, to perfection.

“We were relentless on the defensive end. We were relentless in attacking the basket. We were relentless even when we could have made many excuses not to be. I’m very proud to be the coach of this team.”

Bishop Diego 63, Davis Sr. 60

A last-second three-pointer by Rudy Blue gave the Cardinals a win over Davis Sr. in their Holiday Classic finale on Tuesday at J.R. Richards Gym.
