Lola Hall had 13 kills on a .478 hitting percentage and added seven aces and five digs to lead Laguna Blanca to a 25-19, 25-15, 25-17 sweep of Santa Clara in Frontier League action Tuesday.

Natalie Bianchi added four kills and five digs and passed a 2.25 in serve receive for the Owls.

“Our two setters, Ginger Finney and Regina Lujan did a fantastic job tonight,” Laguna Blanca coach Jason Donnelly said. “They have both been working really hard and it was great to see it pay off with some beautiful sets tonight, particularly in transition.”

The Owls, 7-3 overall and 2-0 in league play, travel to Thacher Thursday for another Frontier League contest.

Cate 3, Grace Brethren 0

The Cate girls won their third Tri-Valley League contest Tuesday by sweeping Grace Brethren, 25-14, 25-12, 25-13.

The Rams gave up the first four points of the first set before turning the play up another gear and showing steady ball control and and aggressive serving to dominate the rest of the way.

“Tonight was a great showing of everyone stepping up and working together,” Cate coach Jordon Dyer said. “One of our top scorers, Gigi Geyer, is out for the week so we moved the lineup around and it was great to see other players make adjustments.

“Everyone on our team saw playing time and made significant contributions tonight. Really pleased with everyone’s performance. One of our goals tonight was to serve and pass better than Grace Brethren and we achieved that.”

The Rams host La Reina Thursday, with game time at 6 p.m.
