A Lompoc man has been arrested on suspicion of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old he met through social media.
Last month, officers with the Lompoc Police Department were notified of allegations involving a juvenile and an adult, Sgt. Scott Morgan said.
Beginning in July or August 2025, an adult began communicating with a juvenile after they met through social media, Morgan added.
Investigators learned that the man subsequently engaged in a sexual relationship with the juvenile and that it continued until approximately March 2026.
After obtaining an arrest warrant, detectives located and arrested Christopher Paul Rodriguez, 35, of Lompoc on Wednesday.
Rodriguez remained in the custody of the Santa Barbara County Jail, where he was being held without bail since he was on probation for a prior criminal case at the time of this week’s arrest.
His most recent prior criminal case involved pleading no contest to inflicting corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant with the sentence including five years of probation set to end in 2027.
Anyone with additional information regarding the investigation, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim, can contact LPD detectives at 805.736.2341.
