
Lompoc Police Lt. Agustin “Chip” Arias has been promoted to captain. He was officially sworn in during a ceremony at Lompoc City Hall on March 7.
Police Chief Kevin Martin and the Lompoc city clerk administered the oath of office in the presence of Arias’ family and friends.
Beginning his journey with the Lompoc Police Department in June 1999 as a reserve police officer, Arias was hired as a full-time officer in January 2001.
Throughout his career, Arias has excelled in a variety of law-enforcement posts, including detective sergeant and SWAT team member. Notably, as detective sergeant, he handled an unprecedented volume of homicide investigations.
Arias is also revered for his commitment to mentorship, consistently investing in the growth and development of his colleagues.
