A Lompoc man has been named as the driver killed in a single-vehicle crash Aug. 29 on Santa Rosa Road.

Cesar Salgado-Roque, 25, died in the crash, said Raquel Zick, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Coroner’s Office, on Monday.

At approximately 5:40 p.m. Aug. 29, emergency personnel from the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol responded to the incident on the 6400 block of Santa Rosa Road, approximately 5 miles west of Buellton.

CHP officers said the preliminary investigation determined that a 2008 Nissan Quest, traveling west, left the south road edge and crashed into a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the Nissan sustained fatal injuries, the CHP said.

This investigation is still ongoing, Buellton CHP officers said.

Anyone with additional information about this incident should call the Buellton Area CHP office at 805.691.6160.
