The city of Lompoc has submitted the latest draft of the 2023-31 General Plan Housing Element Update to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) for review.
The latest draft incorporates public comments received when they were accepted between March 17 and April 17, 2023.
The HCD has 90 days to review the draft document and provide feedback to the city.

The Draft General Plan Housing Element Update plans for existing and projected housing needs to accommodate 2,396 new housing units within the city of Lompoc between the 2023 and 2031.
The plan identifies and analyzes the existing and projected housing needs; provides a list of sites for housing development that are adequate to accommodate the city’s Regional Housing Needs Allocation; documents constraints to housing production; and analyzes fair housing issues and contributing factors.
The plan also includes city of Lompoc goals, policies and programs for the acceleration of housing development, rehabilitation, and preservation of housing units that meet the needs of Lompoc residents.
