The city of Lompoc will celebrate Public Power Week, Oct. 1-7, along with more than 2,000 other community-powered, not-for-profit electric utilities that collectively provide electricity to 49 million Americans.
Keeping the lights on for Lompoc residents, the city is a reliable public power provider, winner of the American Public Power Association (APPA) Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Diamond Award, APPA Safety Award of Excellence Award, and Smart Energy Provider Designation.
The city will recognize its electric division with a Public Power Week proclamation at the Tuesday, Oct. 3 Lompoc City Council meeting.
In addition, the city will be highlighting several public power employees throughout the week with special videos posted to social media.
The Lompoc Electric Division is marking 100 years of providing quality public power to the community.
