A Lompoc man has been arrested on residential armed robbery and other felony charges in his fifth criminal case of 2020.

Daylan James Isaacs, 35, was taken into custody again on Saturday on the 100 block of North M Street on suspicion of robbery, assault with a firearm and other charges, according to law enforcement records.

Lompoc Police Sgt. Vincent Magallon said the arrest occurred after Isaacs allegedly entered a residence with a firearm and took items from the home.

Officers took Isaacs into custody at a different residence where they allegedly recovered some of the stolen items and also found narcotics.

This arrest also led to revocation of Isaacs’ release on his own recognizance from Santa Barbara County Jail for previous criminal cases.

Isaacs was taken into custody days after the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office on Oct. 26 filed a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended or revoked license for offenses not related to driving ability and stemming from an Oct. 19 incident.

In early September, prosecutors filed five felony charges against Isaacs, including possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a loaded firearm with a prior felony conviction, receiving known stolen property, possession/purchase of narcotics for sale, and possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Those charges stem from an investigation into a guitar signed by singer/musician Tom Petty, and stolen from a Los Angeles area storage facility.

In early August, detectives from the Los Angeles and Lompoc police departments worked together on the case, which stemmed from an investigation into the major burglary of a commercial storage facility, according to Lompoc police.

Among items taken in the burglary was a guitar signed by Petty and valued at more than $10,000.

Detectives discovered that Isaacs was attempting to sell the guitar in Lompoc on local social media sites.

Law enforcement officers contacted and arrested Isaacs on the 700 block of West Central Avenue in Lompoc, after he arrived there believing he was selling the guitar to a legitimate buyer.

In addition to finding the stolen guitar in the vehicle that Isaacs was in, detectives also discovered that Isaacs possessed a loaded stolen handgun.

Search warrants were served at a local motel and at his Lompoc residence, which revealed that Isaacs also possessed large amounts of heroin and methamphetamine for sale, police said.

Earlier this year,  in February, felony and misdemeanor charges were filed against Isaacs, including stalking, possessing a firearm by a felon, inflicting corporal injury on a spouse, and  assault with force.

Two more misdemeanor charges filed in June stem from allegations he was driving on a suspended or revoked license for offenses not related to driving ability and unlawful display of registration with intent to avoid compliance.

Charges in the case stemming from his arrest on Halloween were pending on Monday.

Isaacs reportedly remained in custody of the Santa Barbara County Jail on Monday afternoon in lieu of $200,000 bail.
