A double shooting occurred Sunday night in Lompoc, killing a man and critically injuring a woman, according to the Lompoc Police Department.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., Lompoc police and firefighters were dispatched to the shooting scene on 400 block of East Prune Street, police Lt. Chip Arias told Noozhawk.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, Arias said.
The woman, who was critically injured, was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, he added.
On Monday morning, police said Joseph Lujan, 43, of Lompoc, was the person killed in the shooting.
The shooter remained at large late Sunday night.
Detectives have asked that residents check surveillance camera recordings, especially those from East Prune Avenue, D Street, Airport Avenue, F Street and E Street, around the time of the incident.
Anyone with video or other information about the shooting can contact Lompoc police at 805.736.2341.

This is the second fatal shooting in Lompoc in seven days.
On June 5, Jose “Joe” Castillo” was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred at 9:40 p.m. on the 500 block of North K Street.
A man possibly connected to Castillo’s killing died in a shooting after he was cornered in Kern County by law enforcement officers on Wednesday following a crime spree.
Detectives believe Kittipong Kaunbooncharn, 20, of Lompoc was one of the people involved in last week’s fatal shooting, and were working to obtain an arrest warrant on Wednesday when the crime spree occurred.
That crime spree included a carjacking in Anaheim, another shooting in Lompoc, an armed robbery in Buellton and a pursuit through San Luis Obispo and into Kern County.
Kaunbooncharn was found with a gunshot wound and a firearm nearby after the pursuit, law enforcement officers said. Kern County authorities are investigating the cause of death.
A juvenile was taken into custody, but his name has not been released.
