New playground equipment is coming to Thompson Park, and the city of Lompoc wants to hear from community members on which design option they prefer.
The playground equipment will be replacing old and broken equipment at the park that required the fencing off of the area due to safety concerns. The dilapidated playground equipment has been cordoned off since November 2021.
Although areas of Thompson Park received a renovation in 2018, the playground equipment was not replaced at that time. The current Thompson Park playground equipment was installed in 2009.
Funding for the new park design project will be covered by park impact revenue, Community Development Block Grand (CDBG) funding, and grant money.
The community is asked to visit the Thompson Park Playground Design Survey web page, review the two design options, and provide feedback via the online survey linked from the page.
The survey will close at 5 p.m. on Monday, May 16.
