Lompoc Unified School District has announced three new district administrators, Doug Sorum, Sam Blanton and Scott Bauldry.

Sorum was named the interim assistant superintendent of business services. Sorum is a 25-year LUSD employee, who attended Lompoc schools and has sent his children through the school system as well. Sorum has given his entire professional career to LUSD.

“We are proud to promote our own and reward hard work, dedication, and competence,” said Superintendent Trevor McDonald.

Blanton, also an LUSD veteran employee since 1998, was promoted to maintenance and operations director. Blanton also graduated from LUSD schools, and previously was the maintenance and operations supervisor.

Bauldry has taken over as the maintenance and operations supervisor for LUSD. Bauldry has an extensive background in construction and management.

“We are excited to be able to promote within our own organization. When you can grow your own, it reflects a healthy organization where staff continue to grow and improve upon their skills. LUSD is fortunate to have all three of these men helping to improve the working and learning environments for students and staff,” McDonald said.
