Authorities have released the name of the 42-year-old woman killed when she was struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning in Lompoc.

At approximately 1:50 a.m., Lompoc police and firefighters responded to the 600 block of West Ocean Avenue where they found a woman in the roadway who had apparently been struck by a vehicle.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.

On Tuesday, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Coroner’s Bureau confirmed the woman killed was Raquel Zapata of Lompoc.

A driver, Angela Rose Cline, 31, was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, causing great bodily injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, police said.

Criminal charges had not been filed as of Tuesday morning.

A GoFundMe page to raise money for funeral costs has been created by Zapata’s family and is available by clicking here.

“My heart is broken. My sister had a big heart,” a family member wrote on the website. “I can’t even concentrate because I’m still in disbelief.”
