A #LompocCounts Census Bike Caravan is set to travel through Lompoc neighborhoods on Saturday, June 20, reminding residents of the importance of participating in 2020 Census.
Lompoc Mayor Jenelle Osborne will be taking part in the bike caravan, along with members of the Healthy Lompoc Coalition, Spanish-speaking community health workers from the Santa Barbara County Promotores Network, and other community volunteers.
The census bike caravan is set to head out at 2 p.m., traveling through the neighborhoods south of Lompoc High School to Ocean Avenue.
Residents are asked not to join the bike caravan in order to keep participants and bystanders safe. However, residents are encouraged to come outside their homes as they are able and wave to the caravan as it passes by.
Organizers of the #LompocCounts Census Bike Caravan remind the community that their voice counts in 2020 Census, and important federal funding for Lompoc depends on all residents participating in the census.
