Lompoc’s annual Old Town Market begins this Friday, bringing different themes and entertainment throughout the summer.
The six-week market, organized by the Lompoc Valley Chamber of Commerce, will be held every Friday through Aug. 14 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the 100 block of South H Street. The market will include local vendors, live music, food and drinks, as well as free entertainment for children.
This Friday, the theme will be performing arts, including a Lompoc High School alumni association car cruise. July 17 will be Family Fun and Healthy Lompoc Night, which is sponsored by the Lompoc Valley Medical Center and will include health, wellness and community resources.
Hispanic Heritage Night will be held on July 24, celebrating Hispanic and Latino culture and traditions, including a live performance from Mariachi Lo Mejor de Jaisco.
The July 31 market will be Old School/Rockabilly Night, featuring classic cars and retro entertainment.
Public Safety Night is set for Aug. 7, and will have local agencies showcasing emergency vehicles and equipment, as well as the Lompoc Police Foundation Car Cruise and live music from Spange.
The final night will celebrate Lompoc and America’s 250th anniversary with live music from Victor Valencia.
The event is sponsored by Allan Hancock College, and entertainment is sponsored by Firefly Aerospace. Additionally, Vandenberg Space Force Base will be participating in the market, with its own booth on July 10, July 31 and Aug. 14.
