A Los Alamos man has been charged with sexually assaulting a girl and other felony criminal counts in Santa Barbara County Superior Court.
Keith Wayne McCoy, 37, was arrested Monday, and the criminal complaint was filed Wednesday.
The criminal complaint includes two counts of lewd and lascivious acts upon a child, one count of forcible lewd act on a child, three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of forcible rape.
The alleged improper contact occurred between April 2015 and April 2024 involving a young girl, identified as Jane Doe, who was under age 14 when the incidents began, according to the criminal complaint.
McCoy also faces several special allegations, or sentencing enhancements, including for forcible rape of a minor, violent sex offenses and aggravating factors.
He pleaded not guilty to the charges, and the case is scheduled to return to court Aug. 22.
The defendant is represented by attorney Addison Steele. Deputy District Attorney Lindsey Bittner is leading the prosecution team.
McCoy remains in the custody of the Northern Branch Jail with bail set at $1.3 million.
