On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, pet lovers and their four-legged family members are invited to celebrate the special bond between moms and their pets at the Furbaby Sidewalk Stroll & Costume Parade, noon-3 p.m. in Old Town Orcutt.
The community event, benefiting the Santa Barbara County Animal Care Foundation, will be at the Blast 825 Brewery Stockyard.
Attendees are encouraged to dress up with their dogs, cats, or other companions and stroll through the historic district, visiting local merchants and collecting stamps on event “paws-sport” passports.
Completed paws-sports will be entered into prize drawings featuring donations from local businesses and sponsors.
The costume contest includes categories like Best Mom & Furbaby Duo, Funniest Costume, Most Creative, Best Rescue Story, and Crowd Favorite.
Winners will be announced during the afternoon celebration, along with raffle drawings, sponsor recognition, and a spotlight on adoptable shelter animals.
Event schedule:
• Noon-12:30 p.m.: Check-in and costume viewing at Blast 825 Brewery Stockyard.
• 12:30-2 p.m.: Sidewalk stroll of Old Town Orcutt and “paws-sport” stamp collection at select merchants.
• 2-3 p.m.: Live music, awards, vendors, adoptions and estivities at Blast 825 Brewery Stockyard.
