It was a historic season for Luke Zuffelato and the Santa Barbara High boys basketball team in 2024, from a deep playoff run by the team to several individual program records for the junior star.
As a result, Zuffelato and the co-Channel League champion Dons headline the local All-Channel League honorees for the boys basketball season.
Zuffelato was named the league’s co-MVP alongside Oxnard’s Marcos Ramirez after leading his team to a 13-1 league record and averaging 27.7 points and seven rebounds per game.
He also set the program record for points in a single game (46), points in a season (885) and three-pointers made in a career (217+).
Meanwhile, Santa Barbara High head coach Greg Zuffelato earned the title of Channel League Co-Coach of the Year with Jeff Staniland of Oxnard.
The top honorees for the Dons stem beyond the Zuffelato family, as the senior pairing of Tobin Shyrock and Finn Whipps played crucial roles in the CIF-SS Semi-Final run to pick up spots on the All-League First Team.
The San Marcos Royals also had a strong showing in 2024, going 8-6 in league play and earning a playoff spot. Seniors Micah Jacobi and Joe Pasternack led the charge for the team and were rewarded with spots on the All-League First Team as well.
Meanwhile, the lone All-League First Team honoree from the Dos Pueblos Chargers was senior Justin Stock, who was a scoring machine all season long.
