Luke Zuffelato recorded a pair double-doubles in Santa Barbara High’s two-game split in non-league basketball games against Gahr and Walnut over the weekend.

Zuffelato scored 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a  68-52 win over Gahr on Friday. 

After a slow start, the Dons found their groove and pulled away in the second half.

Carter Battle scored 17 points and had six deflections, and  Devan Stone had eight points and six deflections.

On Saturday, the Dons took on Walnut, one of the top teams in the San Gabriel Valley, and lost 83-59.

Zuffelato had 23 points and 10 rebounds Stone scored nine points and Tobin Shylock had six points and seven assists.

“Ultimately, an ice-cold shooting night doomed us,” said coach Corey Adam. “This was a great test for us, helping to expose some areas we have to get better in.”

The Dons are back home Tuesday against Royal at 6 p.m.
