Mahra Renee Almanza, age 58, of Santa Barbara passed away on Jan. 20, 2024 with her family by her side. She was born on Feb. 3, 1965 in Santa Barbara.

Mahra was raised in a family of 10 children by Barbara and Ralph.

Mahra attended Dos Pueblos High School, where she met her husband, they have been together since they were 16 years old. She was married to Andrew Michael Almanza Sr. in 1983.

Mahra is survived by her children Andrew Jr., Andrea and Antonio; grandchildren Lia, Ema, Remington and Darcy. She is also survived by several brothers and sisters. 

Mahra worked for the Goleta Union School District for many years as a yard supervisor. She loved all sorts of genres of music. She also loved to make jewelry. Everyone loved her famous nopales dish. 

She fought a long hard battle with cancer, and we are very proud of her for how long she fought to stay with us.

She loved Jehovah and was raised a Jehovah’s Witness. Mahra believed in the hope of everlasting life that is described in Revelation 21:3,4.
