Two people were transported to the hospital Friday — one critically injured and another with minor injuries — after a two-vehicle traffic collision south of Guadalupe, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Emergency crews responded to the area of Brown Road and Highway 1 just after 8 a.m.

One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, fire Capt. Mike Gray said.

Units were still on scene around 9 a.m.

Cause of the collision was under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.

“Public is advised to use caution in the area,” Gray said.

Additional information was not immediately available.
