A 60-year-old man was transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by helicopter Saturday after he sustained a left femur fracture in a motorcycle crash south of Lompoc, according to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department.

Emergency crews with County Fire, Lompoc Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol first responded to the 5700 block of Jalama Road around 11:54 a.m. for a report of a motorcycle crash.

Jalama Road was closed in both directions as of 12:30 p.m., according to County Fire Capt. Mike Gray.

“Drivers are advised to use caution,” Gray said.

The cause of the collision was under investigation.

A tow truck was called to the scene for the motorcycle, according to Highway Patrol.
