A man was taken to Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital and treated for smoke inhalation on Saturday after a garage fire broke out at a home in Goleta.

Santa Barbara County firefighters responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. to the blaze on the 400 block of Camino Talavera, according to fire Capt. Scott Safechuck.

Three people live in the home.

Fire crews stopped the flames from spreading out of the garage at 11:08 a.m., Safechuck said, although the rest of the home sustained smoke damage.

No other residences were affected, Safechuck said, and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
