A 34-year-old man with a gunshot wound was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria early Saturday, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.

Police responded to the 2400 block of North Baldwin Way just after midnight for a report of a shooting, according to Sgt. Joshua Yee.

“Officers arrived on scene and located a 34-year-old male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound,” Yee said.

Police did not find any additional victims, and the incident was under investigation.

“There is no ongoing threat to the public,” Yee added.

The wounded man’s name and details on his condition were not available.
