A man was taken to the hospital Wednesday night after being shot in Santa Maria, according to the Santa Maria Police Department.
At about 8:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of North Western Avenue, where they found the man, who had suffered a single gunshot wound, Sgt. Andy Magallon said.
The victim was taken by AMR ambulance to Marian Regional Medical Center.
His name and details on his condition were not available, but his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Detectives are investigating the shooting, and are asking anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity before or after to contact them at 805.928.3781 x2277.
“Additionally, any residences in the area with surveillance systems are asked to check for activations around the time of the shooting,” Magallon said.
