A man died Wednesday at the Santa Barbara Waterfront of a possible drug overdose, according to the Santa Barbara Police Department.

Officers and other emergency personnel were dispatched at about 11:45 a.m. to a report of an unresponsive male in the restrooms at the base of Stearns Wharf, Sgt. Ethan Ragsdale said.

“Once on scene, first responders conducted lifesaving medical aid, and Narcan was administered in an attempt to revive the male,” Ragsdale said. “Tragically, the subject was declared dead on scene.”

The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.

Personnel from the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner’s Bureau responded to investigate the death.

Foul play is not suspected, Ragsdale added.
