Marian Regional Medical Center has welcomed its first baby of the year — Jorge Damian Toribio Santos, a healthy baby boy, born at 2:35 a.m. Jan. 1, 2026.

Jorge weighed in at 6 pounds, 2 ounces.

Nurses at Marian Regional Medical Center’s Family Birthing Center presented the family with a gift basket filled with goodies and essentials for the newborn.

The nurses couldn’t wait to take a photo with the little bundle of joy, the hospital said.

Both mom and baby are healthy and doing well, the hospital said.
