The Santa Barbara Museum of Art (SBMA) has appointed Mark Maltun as its chief financial Officer (CFO), effective May 6.

With 20 years of industry experience and a track record of growing value through finance and accounting leadership, Maltun brings a wealth of expertise., SBMA said.

He has a versatile background, having worked for for-profit, nonprofit, and private groups throughout his career, and has held executive-level positions and demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities in various organizations. ​ 

Maltun most recently served as CFO of Community Hospice, Inc., a nonprofit hospice company in Modesto, California, with 300 employees and more than $35 million in revenues.

He has also acted as CFO for VNA, Inc. in Monterey, California, a nonprofit hospice and home healthcare company; CFO for Napa Valley Hospice Adult Day services in Napa, California; director of finance for Hillside House in Santa Barbara; and North American controller for Parexel International, a public company.

“The museum’s board, staff and I are delighted that Mark has joined our team,” said Amada Cruz, SBMA Eichholz Foundation director. “He is extremely accomplished, talented, and highly respected and will be a key member of the senior team helping to lead the organization into the future.”

Maltun holds an MBA in finances from Golden Gate University and a BA in business administration from California Lutheran University.
