Mary Carol Jepsen was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1939. She recently passed of natural causes after a long illness.

Carol was well known in the community and loved by all. Her legacy is exemplified by her faith, love of her Cchurch, and love of her family.

Carol was a medical office worker who wore multiple hats. She worked for Dr. Robert Barry’s pediatrics practice, and Dr. David Carty’s OBGYN practice.

Thoughout her 86 years, Carol was honored to take on a role of service. She and her late husband Jim spent more than 20 years teaching the marriage preparation course at St. Louis de Montfort Church. They were eager to help couples to establish a foundation of lifelong love.

Carol was a long-time Eucharistic minister, taking communion to the sick and homebound. She and Jim volunteered for many events and ministries at the church and in the community.

When not volunteering, they spent most of their time enjoying Angels baseball, often while traveling the countryside, camping and enjoying nature and meeting new friends.

Carol was preceded in death by Jim, her husband of 56 years, and her brother Earl. She is survived by her large extended family, including her daughter Lisa and son James; sister Jane and brother Eric; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Services will be held Thursday, April 9 at St. Louis de Montfort Church. A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Lompoc Cemetery at 2 p.m. The service will be livestreamed at SLDM.org.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Louis de Montfort Church and the Knights of Columbus.
