The Bishop Diego girls moved to 4-0 in Tri-Valley League play with a 3-1 win over visiting St. Bonaventure Tuesday, with scores of 25-17, 25-12, 21-25, 25-22.
Seniors Mia Bazzani and Emma Coglizer led with 11 kills apiece. Bazzani added two blocks and three aces, and Coglizer five aces and 12 digs.
“Our seniors stepped up tonight,” Bishop Diego coach Dillan Bennett said.
“I’m impressed with how Mia has turned her game around and into something that will help our team moving forward. Tonight was her best night attacking the ball, and I’m hopeful she can find her groove after a match like tonight.
“Emma returned to her serving game that plays a huge role in our success. Both are going to have to sustain this level of play as we head into the second round of league play.”
The Cardinals improved to 7-8 overall. They head to Foothill Tech Thursday to wrap up the first round of TVL play.
