Michael Anthony Cordero beloved son, brother, husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 23, 2020, with his family by his side. He was born on Sept. 28, 1947 in Santa Barbara and was raised there. He retired from the Santa Barbara Unified School District in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Virginia Cordero; his son Michael (Rosemary); his daughter Michelle; grandchildren Matthew, Kailani and Sophia; brothers Louie (Aida) and Paul (Susie) Cordero; and sisters Roberta Cordero and Kathy Lord (Richard); and many nieces and nephews.

His parents Harry and Pauline Cordero; sister Margaret Petersen; and brothers Robert, Thomas and Harry Cordero precede him.

Mike was a man who was deeply committed to his family and was a friend to many. 

Rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Saint Barbara Parish Old Mission. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
