Dos Pueblos golfer Michael Gentry finished 36th out of a field of 120 players at the CIF/SCGA Southern California Boys Individual and Team Championships at Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena on Tuesday.

Gentry made four birdies in a round of  2-over par 74.

Youseong Choi of Anaheim Discovery Christian finished at 7-under 65 to win the tournament by three shots. Servite won the team title, scoring an even-par 360.

Dos Pueblos coach Kevin Ahlers was impressed how Gentry played in tough conditions.

“Michael preformed very well given the very hot conditions,” he said. “Temperatures in Pasadena reached over triple digits.

“I am really impressed with Michael’s focus today. He was playing in a high-stakes tournament and the heat but was able to focus on each individual shot.”
