The Center Studio, a wellness center dedicated to promoting holistic health and well-being, will donate monthly proceeds from its community education classes to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast (BGCMCC).

A check presentation will take place at 2 p.m. June 28 at the Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles. The donation aims to support the implementation and expansion of the Youthful Mindfulness Movement Program for Club kids, empowering children with essential tools for self-care and emotional well-being.

Encouraging mindfulness in children can help them develop lifelong skills for managing their emotions and navigating the world around them. Mindful practice improves focus and attention and reduces stress and anxiety while enhancing emotional regulation and self-control by creating a safe space with other students.

BGCMCC is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for local kids.

Understanding that the need for mental health awareness is great among children, BGCMCC programming is designed to include opportunities for club members to connect with their emotional needs and learn skills and practices to help them better assess their own needs as well as the social/emotional needs of their peers and family members.

Recognizing the importance of mindfulness and physical activity in promoting holistic wellness, The Center Studio’s donation will support the implementation of the Youthful Mindfulness Movement Program.

The program introduces children to the practice of yoga and provides them with a space to cultivate mindfulness, build strength, enhance flexibility, and develop emotional resilience.

Certified yoga instructors lead age-appropriate sessions, introducing kids to the foundations of yoga practice, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises.

In addition to the financial donation from The Center, Manduka Mats donated 20 yoga mats for the children to use.

The Youthful Mindfulness Movement Program is currently offered at the Railroad Clubhouse in Santa Maria and the Tom Maas Clubhouse in Paso Robles, but there are plans to expand into more clubs.

“We are deeply grateful for the generous donation from The Center Studio,” said Anna Libbon, vice president of Club Success with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast.

“The introduction of the Yoga and Mindful Movement Program enables us to provide our Club Kids with a unique opportunity to engage in activities that promote their physical and emotional well-being.

“This program aligns perfectly with our mission to support and empower our young members, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on their lives.”
