When the opportunity arose to visit the residents at Valle Verde, a group of primary students were excited to connect with the residents, sharing music, stories, and their love of crafts.

The students focused on their top 10 favorite songs and once the singing began, not only did the students light up, the residents joined in, too.

After the mini concert, the group took a walk in the Valle Verde courtyard, then reconvened for a creative crafting session. Together they started journals, including Polaroid photos of their visit, and decorated the pages together.

With plans to return soon, the students said they looked forward to filling their journals with more memories.

“Through the mediums of music, conversation and crafts, the inter-generational gathering blossomed into a heartwarming and memorable afternoon,” said lead teacher Leah Sahagun.
