
Montessori Center School (MCS) has announced the appointment of Tom W. Burk as president to the school’s 2020-21 Board of Trustees, effective July 1. Previously, Burk served as treasurer, vice president and chair of the board’s finance committee.
“We are excited to welcome Tom as board president. His long-standing affiliation with and commitment to MCS, coupled with his expertise and knowledge, will guide our growth and continuous improvement to better serve our community,” said Melanie Jacobs, MCS head of school.
Burk is a CPA at Nasif, Hicks, Harris & Co., LLP. He works with individual, corporate and partnership clients, assisting them to create and maintain wealth by providing complex tax planning and return preparation, IRS representation, entity choice planning, financial statement compilations, business consulting, and retirement planning.
After earning a BA degree from UCSB in 1992, Burk began his accounting career as an accounting supervisor with Circon Corporation; he has been with Nasif, Hicks, Harris, & Co., LLP since 1997. Burk has lived in Santa Barbara resident since he was three years old, He and his wife have two children who are students at Montessori Center School.
