Kyle’s Kitchen, a philanthropic restaurant in Santa Barbara, which supports individuals with special needs, each quarter partners with local organizations, dedicating a portion of its proceeds to meaningful causes while raising awareness within the community.

Kyle’s Kitchen is collaborating with Mosaic Therapy Collective, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to making high-quality, holistic therapeutic interventions accessible for individuals with disabilities.

Founder Shay McDonald highlighted the transformative work Mosaic Therapy Collective is doing to bridge the gap between therapists and families with disabilities.

“We are not just providing therapy, we are building a movement of connection, empowerment and hope,” McDonald said.

Since opening in February 2023, Mosaic has served more than 450 families through its in-clinic outpatient services and impacted some 800 individuals through its free community-based programs.

The organization not only provides therapy services, it also empowers therapists by offering affordable, fully equipped collaborative workspaces, allowing them to start and grow their private practices within a supportive environment.

Mosaic Therapy Collective stands out for its commitment to inclusivity, accessibility, and equity. Their community-driven approach includes inclusive classes, educational workshops, and innovative therapy solutions—all designed and facilitated by licensed professionals.

By fostering an environment that promotes creativity, collaboration, and wellness, Mosaic ensures that both therapists and families receive the support they need.

Jay and Deena Ferro, owners of Kyle’s Kitchen, founded the restaurant chain with a heartfelt purpose: to give back to the special needs community that has shaped their lives.

Inspired by their son Kyle, who was born with special needs, the Ferros said they believe everyone deserves to enjoy great food while making meaningful connections. Their dedication to philanthropy has made Kyle’s Kitchen a pillar of support for local nonprofits that align with their mission.

On March 23, the Ferros gifted $4,244 of their proceeds to the Mosaic Therapy Collective. The funds will help fund Mosaic’s programs to ensure they remain accessible, equitable and inclusive for all who need them.

“It has been a privilege to address the significant needs within our community and help build a supportive network for families of children with disabilities,” said MacDonald, who said a majority of the families that have come to Mosaic were put on extensive waitlists or turned away from other agencies.

“At Mosaic, families receive more than just therapy; they become part of a compassionate, inclusive community where they are welcomed with open arms,” MacDonald said. “We provide a space for families to connect, grow, and build lasting friendships, creating a safe and supportive environment that helps them thrive.”

Through the partnership, Kyle’s Kitchen aims to not only provide financial support to Mosaic Therapy Collective but also amplify its impact by spreading awareness about the essential services it provides.

As customers enjoy their meals, they can take pride in knowing that their patronage contributes to life-changing programs that support children and individuals with disabilities in the Santa Barbara community.

As the quarterly community partner, Kyle’s Kitchen invites the community to come together in support of Mosaic Therapy Collective.

Every meal purchased helps make a difference, reinforcing the restaurant’s belief that great food can also serve a greater purpose.

Together, they continue to enhance lives, one meal — and one act of kindness — at a time.
