A motorcyclist was fatally injured Sunday in a collision with another vehicle in Santa Maria.
At approximately 11 a.m., Santa Maria Police Department officers, along with personnel from the Santa Maria Fire Department and American Medical Response, responded to the crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on the 600 block of East Boone Street, Sgt. Shane Armstrong said.
Officers found the rider lying in the roadway, and emergency personnel immediately began life-saving measures.
The man was transported to Marian Regional Medical Center for treatment but died due to his injuries, Armstrong said.
He has been identified as a 30-year-old Santa Maria resident, but his name was being withheld pending notification of relatives.
The Police Department Traffic Unit responded to conduct an investigation including determining the cause of the collision.
