A motorcyclist was fatally injured Sunday evening in a crash in the Santa Ynez Valley, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency personnel were dispatched shortly after 5:30 p.m. to the crash scene on the 3000 block of Canada Este Road.
The motorcycle and the rider ended up about 20 feet off the roadway, the CHP said.
The rider, whose name was not released pending notification of relatives, reportedly was declared dead at the scene.
