A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon in a collision on northbound Highway 101 Goleta, just past the Storke Road offramp.
The freeway in that area was reduced to one lane as of 5 p.m., according to Santa Barbara County Fire Department Capt. Mike Gray.
Emergency crews first responded to the northbound side of the highway at 4:20 p.m. for a report of a collision involving a motorcycle, Gray said.
Early reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated a motorcycle and a black Tesla collided.
The cause of the collision was under investigation, per Gray.
There are no other reported injuries.
“Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and avoid the area to ensure first responder and public safety,” Gray said.
Additional information was not immediately available.
