A motorist died Saturday morning after a collision with a semi-truck trailer near Santa Maria.

The driver, who was alone, was killed in the crash on Highway 1, at the corner of Guadalupe and W. Main streets.

The collision occurred about 6:29 a.m.

Scott Safechuck, public information officer for the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, said the driver of the semi-truck was not injured.

Santa Barbara County, Guadalupe and Santa Maria fire departments responded to the crash.
