A mountain biker near Buckhorn and Santa Rosa trails in Los Padres National Forest was rescued and taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital via helicopter on Thursday.

The biker was experiencing a medical emergency, according to Santa Barbara County Fire Deoartment spokesperson Capt. Mike Gray.

Information about the patient’s condition was not available.

Emergency crews first converged on that area at around 7:15 a.m.

“Excellent teamwork with Santa Barbara County Search & Rescue to quickly reach and assist the patient,” Gray said. “Thank you to all personnel involved.”

Emergency radio traffic indicated the biker was vomiting, but that could not be immediately confirmed.
