Question: What is the name and date of your event?
Answer: Ride Santa Barbara 100 — October 18, 2025.
Q: What is the mission, goal, and/or theme of this occasion?
A: Ride Santa Barbara 100 is a premier destination cycling event that brings together passionate cyclists from around the world to celebrate endurance, community, and the stunning Santa Barbara coastline. The event benefits MOVE Santa Barbara County, supporting their mission to empower active transportation choices and advocate for safer walking, biking, and transit access throughout the region.
Q: Have you held this event before?
A: Yes! 2025 marks the 14th annual Ride Santa Barbara 100. It has become a bucket-list ride for cyclists of all levels, offering unforgettable scenery and challenge.
Q: Tell us some more details about your celebration?
A: Ride Santa Barbara 100 is a fully supported cycling event, not a race, with four route options ranging from 34 miles to the full 100-mile course. All routes start at Chase Palm Park and showcase Santa Barbara’s diverse terrain—from coastal roads to the legendary Gibraltar Road climb.
Riders enjoy stocked aid stations, mechanical support, and a vibrant finish line festival with food, beer, and sponsor activations. Participants receive a shirt, water bottle, musette bag, and other swag. Gibraltar Challenge finishers earn a commemorative coin.
Q: How do people get involved with your event? (volunteer, attend, etc.) – If your event includes ticket sales, please note the price and include a link to purchase tickets.
A: Cyclists can register to ride at ridesb100.com, with multiple route options ranging from a 34-mile coastal cruise to the full 100-mile experience with the iconic Gibraltar Challenge climb. Charity ride options are also available, allowing riders to participate with a fundraising commitment.
Early bird pricing is available, and fees increase closer to the event date—so we encourage early registration! Volunteers are also welcome and play a key role in making the event successful. Sign-up info for both riders and volunteers is available on the website.
Q: Is this a fundraising affair? If so, how will the funds raised help your organization?
A: Yes, proceeds support MOVE Santa Barbara County. Funds help promote safer, more equitable transportation infrastructure and educational programs that encourage biking, walking, and public transit as sustainable and healthy choices.
Q: Who is sponsoring your event, and why is their support important?
A: Our primary sponsors are Zenni Optical, Unlimited Biking, Bike Legal, and 805 Beer. These partners help us create more than just a ride — each playing a key role in enhancing the Ride Santa Barbara 100 experience. From rental bike support and legal advocacy to on-site activation and post-ride celebration, their contributions help us deliver a world-class cycling event rooted in community and adventure.
Q: Do you work with an Event Planner? If not, who are the key people who make it all happen?
A: Yes, Ride Santa Barbara 100 is produced by Easy Day Sports, a premier endurance event production company known for delivering high-quality, athlete-focused experiences. Their team oversees all aspects of planning and execution — from permitting and course design to on-site logistics — ensuring a seamless and safe ride for every participant. We also collaborate closely with MOVE Santa Barbara County, local officials, and dedicated volunteers to bring the event to life.
Q: Does your organization have any other upcoming events this year?
A: Yes! MOVE Santa Barbara County will be hosting a community safety initiative called Iluminando La Noche during the week of November 3–7. This event provides free bicycle lights to riders who need them most, helping ensure that those who rely on bikes for transportation stay visible and safe during dark evening hours.
Volunteers will install lights for cyclists in high-traffic commuter areas across Santa Barbara County, including Eastside SB, Westside SB, Downtown, Carpinteria, Isla Vista, Goleta, and more. The goal is to prevent accidents, raise awareness, and make our streets safer for everyone.
In addition, MOVE is planning a separate event in Santa Maria later this year (exact date TBD). More details will be posted soon at movesbcounty.org
Q: What are you planning as a post-event follow up?
A: After the ride, we’ll share a full recap with participants through email and social media, including event highlights, Gibraltar Challenge results, and photo galleries. Riders will receive their official photos and have the opportunity to provide feedback through a post-event survey.
We also celebrate top finishers and Gibraltar Challenge KOM/QOM winners with recognition and awards. Our team uses this input to continuously improve the event and keep the Ride Santa Barbara 100 experience world-class year after year.
