Emergency crews responded to multiple traffic collisions along Highway 101 west of Goleta on Thursday night.

A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles was reported at 6:49 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway near El Capitán State Beach.

A black truck reportedly crossed over from the southbound side to the northbound side, per the California Highway Patrol.

Northbound lanes were ordered closed at Winchester Canyon Road, west of Goleta, due to extensive debris on the lanes and remained closed as of 9 p.m.

Crews also responded to a separate traffic collision at around 8:20 p.m. for a report of a single vehicle on the train tracks that was missing its left rear wheel.

That crash was also reported along the Gaviota Coast, near Refugio State Beach.

Santa Barbara County Fire Department spokeswoman Karen Cruz-Orduña confirmed that no injuries were reported.

She added that the railroad tracks in that area were temporarily closed.

“Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution, as wet weather is in the forecast and roads may be slick,” Cruz-Orduña said.

Additional information was not immediately available.
