Breezy weather prompted the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory for southern Santa Barbara County Friday afternoon.
Winds of 20-35 mph and gusts of 40-50 mph were expected through 5 a.m. Saturday, the NWS said.
Breezy weather was reported countywide but the advisory was issued specifically for the Santa Ynez Mountains, including the hills above Montecito, as well as Jalama Beach and the Gaviota Coast.
“Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result,” the NWS said in its advisory. “Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.”
