A resident safely escaped a mobile home fire in Old Town Orcutt on Sunday afternoon.

At approximately 1:30 p.m., personnel from the Santa Barbara County and Santa Maria fire departments responded to the incident at Orcutt Ranch Mobile Estates on the 200 block of North Broadway, county fire Capt. Scott Safechuck said.

Firefighters used saws to open an exterior wall and employed a hose line to extinguish the fire, Safechuck added.

Ten minutes after being dispatched, firefighters had contained the blazed mostly to the outside of the residence, Safechuck said.

Some minor interior damage also occurred to an adjacent bathroom, he added.

No injuries were reported, and no other structures were involved.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
