It may be a wet week in Santa Barbara County, with a chance of rain in the forecast from Monday night through the weekend.

The National Weather Service expects the most rain on Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning, when there’s a 100% chance of rain countywide.

That storm could drop 1-2 inches of rain on coasts and valleys, and 2-4 inches in foothill and mountain areas.

The NWS plans to issue a Flood Watch from 6 p.m. Wednesday to 6 p.m. Thursday.

Heavy rain over burn scars, such as the Lake Fire in the eastern Santa Ynez Valley, could trigger flooding and debris flows, the NWS said.

Daytime temperatures will be in the 50s all week in Santa Barbara, Lompoc, the Santa Ynez Valley and Santa Maria. Nighttime temperatures will dip into the 30s and 40s.

A winter storm watch is expected for some inland and mountain areas of the county due to gusty winds and snow later this week.

Snow could fall down to 3,000 feet Wednesday night – a dusting up to an inch, the forecast says – and mountains above 6,500 feet could get up to 2 feet of snow in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, the NWS said.
