Building on four decades of promoting preservation through art, The Oak Group will present its fall 2026 show and sale benefiting the California Rangeland Trust, Oct. 1-30 at Santa Barbara Central Library’s Faulkner Gallery, 40 E. Anapamu St.

There will be a reception with the artists, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2.

The mission of the California Rangeland Trust is to protect California rangelands through conservation agreements.

The Rangeland Trust has partnered with California ranching families across the state to permanently protect 433,010 acres of open spaces as working landscapes forever.

“These lands serve as wildlife corridors and carbon sponges, where sensitive species thrive, our air is cleaned and our fresh water flows, home to resources that benefit us all,” organizers said.

The exhibit will feature paintings of 10 California Rangeland Trust conservation easements in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties: Rancho Arbolado, Hanson Ranch, Hearst Ranch, Carrizo Ranch, Spanish Ranch, San Lorenzo Ranch, Ahearn Ranch, Covell Ranch/PBS, El Chorro Ranch, and San Lucas Ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley.  

Faulkner Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

The show will also be viewable online, Oct. 2-Nov. 30 at www.oakgroup.org and www.rangelandtrust.org.

Additionally, some Oak Group members and California Rangeland Trust personnel will be on hand at the gallery from 5-7 p.m. on First Thursday Oct. 1.
