Old Santa Ynez Days and its annual rodeo will return this weekend.

This year marks the 144th anniversary of Santa Ynez, and Saturday and Sunday’s events will honor the city’s Western culture and traditions.

Old Santa Ynez Days will feature a parade with live country music, food and beverages, a pie-baking contest, local artisan booths, kid-friendly activities, carriage rides and more.

The parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday with carriages, stagecoaches and community horse-riding groups set to roll along Sagunto Street.

The seventh annual rodeo, presented by the Santa Ynez Valley Western Heritage Foundation, is a qualifying event featuring some of the sport’s top competitors.

It will be held at the Santa Ynez Chumash Arena at Meadowvale Road and Highway 246. Competitions include bull riding, saddle bronco riding, bareback riding, tie-down roping, team roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling and women’s breakaway roping.

The rodeo gates will open at noon on Saturday, with the main event starting at 5 p.m. On Sunday, the gates will open at 11 a.m., with the main event at 3 p.m.

Rodeo tickets are $43.89 for adults and $25.99 for children. Seniors get a discounted price of $38.72.

Admission tickets can be purchased at the gate or online here. Parking is included.
