Olivia 'Libby' Moreno
Olivia ‘Libby’ Moreno

Olivia “Libby” Moreno left us on April 22, 2026, comforted by the love of family and friends. Libby was born to Joe and Elvira Quiroga in Santa Barbara.

She grew up there and graduated from Santa Barbara High School.

She leaves behind her husband Tom Moreno; nephew Joey Duarte (Katie); sisters Beatrice Quiroga and Sylvia Quiroga; brother Joe Quiroga Sr.; and a large extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews.

Libby’s greatest passions were her husband, grandchildren and gardening. She also loved music, dancing and traveling.

Libby dedicated more than 35 years to Santa Barbara Research Center/Raytheon, where she began her career as an assembler and retired as an engineer, a testament to her determination and work ethic.

She was fiercely loyal, independent, and always followed her heart.

In the spirit of her mother, Libby was deeply committed to helping others, especially those less fortunate. After retiring, she devoted six years to caring for her mother until she suffered a life-changing brain aneurysm.

Libby will be remembered for her kindness, honesty and warmth, but most of all, for her beautiful, genuine smile and laughter.

A Rosary vigil will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday May 13 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 21 E. Sola St, Santa Barbara. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, also at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery, 199 N. Hope Ave., Santa Barbara.

Arrangements entrusted to McDermott-Crockett Mortuary.
